Alton Brown of Good eats recommended this kettle and I'm glad I bought it. Heats water in a flash, boils eggs to a "T", and shuts itself off. I use it daily.

The kettle works fine! It is large, and very heavy for me, even before I put water in it. I'm not an elderly person but I wish I could find a non-plastic electric kettle about half the size, both to reduce the amount of counter space it takes up, and to lower the weight.
